Heliskiing Verbier

Heli Skiing gives us the chance to ski in one day, what would otherwise take 2 to 3 days. Switzerland is one of the few places in Europe where we can Heliski. And Verbier is the perfect place to start from.

Though normally we will organise this a day or two in advance, we fly right from the piste to the peak, making any ski day ripe for a quick change of scene. All the powder next to the piste may be tracked within hours of the lifts opening. But a quick flight to the top of the Petit Combin or Trient Plateau gives us access to thousands of acres of fresh snow. We usually extend the day by taking touring gear with us to stay high in the mountains all day.

The relative low cost of this adventure puts Heliskiing well within the reach of most skiers. Prices vary depending on group size and itinerary. For a group of 4 clients flying to the Petit Combin, calculate 445.00/person. We usually take a taxi back at the end of the day, which adds 20.00 or so francs to the price.

The gear you’ll need with you is an alpine harness, transceiver, and a backpack with a probe and shovel. In that backpack you could have a litre of water, some snacks, and your climbing skins cut specifically for your skis.
