This remote Val de Bagnes, where Verbier is located, has some of the best ice climbing in Switzerland. Little literature has been published on it, leaving the area dry of climbers. The multitude of drips, gives experts and neophytes alike, tremendous opportunities to climb ice. It is remote, yet close enough to do big day climbs.

For beginners, we may start on a short, low pitch climb, not far from the road. This relaxed ambience, gives aspiring climbers a chance to concentrate on their technique, without being overly impressed by the shocking nature of what they are trying to accomplish. For the more advanced, the Val du Bagnes has some super climbs, many taking a full day to accomplish. The many neighboring valleys offer climbs enough to keep the locals on new lines every year.
