The Haute Route


We went from Chamonix to Zermatt this week. (photos)

The weather was great, allowing us to pick and choose our way. We stayed in the Albert Premier Hut the first night, sliding down the Trient Glacier the next day. Then we climbed through the pretty Lire Rose from the Chanrion to Dix hut. A night in a hotel in Arolla meant we smelled nice again! Then on to Berthol and Zermatt. (photos)

The good weather gave way to thunder showers these past 2 days. The cycle starts again, with good weather forecasted for the next few days before more thunder showers later in the week.
