Another Turkey Heliskiing updateOur second week in Ayder, saw some of the worst
weather of the season. But thanks to the capabilities of our group, it was an
excellent week of skiing.
We skied hard, 3 out of 6 days, and a bit on
another two. Corn snow bloomed in a matter of hours, and we skied hard in this
window of weather Tuesday. Thursday had us riding in fat powder, still taking
the heat off the desert to the south. Saturday saw the return of winter weather,
with 25 cm of fresh snow. Everyone shifted into overdrive on fresh legs filled
with fine Turkish cuisine. The skiing was so much fun, smiles ear to
ear.
I got some nice photos of people or (small size) playing on the shores of the Black Sea, deep in the Kackar powder. Posted: Sat - March 12, 2005 at 08:11 PM |
