Sailing Croatia

The waters of the Kornati Islands are quickly fading from my mind, only 24 hours later.

I can't imagine spending a week aboard with a nicer family, the Shreves. We sailed from the Kremik Marina, near Primosten and Trogir aboard a beautiful 50ft. Grand Soleil yacht. The winds were force 4-5 from the SE, making for some real heavy sailing, close haul to Vis. It was a big day, which set us up for nice cruising the rest of the week. Winds were more consistent than I have experienced in Croatia, turning later in the week from the NW, again at force 4-5. Good Fun!!!

We sailed to Hvar, and did some beautiful climbing on Miroslav Stec's cliff at Sveta Nedjelja. What a spot! The typically steep cliffs of Croatia shine here, only meters from the water. Thanks Miroslav, for all the hard work to create such a fine place.

We picked up more crew at Split, then headed on towards the Kornati Islands. A few photos show a bit of the ambiance on our last 2 days together .

The forecast for these Alps is good and hot for the next 5 days. We will walk from Chamonix to Zermatt on the "Haute Route" this week. Conditions look to be perfect!
