Norway Sail and SkiThrough birch forests to Alpine peaks, we spent a
week sailing and skiing in the fjords of Norway.
We sailed north from Tromso, towards the Lyngen
peninsula. Arriving in Akkarvik at 3 AM, Kenneth, the skipper, and myself, were
invited to a party in the local pub, live band included! It was snowing hard,
with 15 cm accumulating in the time it took us to tie-up. Unfortunately, this
was a sign of the unstable weather to
come.
We had one beautiful day, skinning to the top of Storhaugen. The views were stunning, and the ski down was on fine corn snow. We must come back to gain the full potential of these hills! Posted: Thu - May 19, 2005 at 08:03 PM |
