Winter Ski Clinics 2011
This winter, 2 steep skiing clinics, March 28- April 2 and April 11-16 will have us following the best conditions in Verbier, Chamonix, Italy and the Bernese Oberland. While the theme is on fun and adventure, much of the time will be devoted to developing the skills needed to travel safely over these Alps.
We will look at slope dynamics as regards to avalanche prediction and prevention. We will learn how to place snow anchors using material at hand. Techniques for skiing safely in steep terrain will be learned. And glacier travel, rescue techniques, and orientation will be discussed.
