Winter Ski Clinics 2009
This winter, 2 steep skiing clinics, February 16-21 and March 23-28 will have us following the best conditions in Verbier, Chamonix, Italy and the Bernese Oberland. While the theme is on fun and adventure, much of the time will be devoted to developing the skills needed to travel safely over these Alps.
We will look at slope dynamics as regards to avalanche prediction and prevention. We will learn how to place snow anchors using material at hand. Techniques for skiing safely in steep terrain will be learned. And glacier travel, rescue techniques, and orientation will be discussed.
