Tetra Couloirs to Z?oty Bars!
From thick pine forests to broad alpine peaks, we
climbed our way through the heart of the Polish Tetra Mountains. Starting at the
lower east end, just south of Zakopane, we traversed ridges, peaks, cols and
couloirs on our way to beautiful, classic alpine refuges. The Pols have this
figured out, leaving us impressed with their relaxed style. We slept in private
rooms and ate meals at our leasure in these old institutions. And at 1/5 the
prices we might pay here in the French-Swiss-Italian huts! The batteries went
out on my camera, so the pictures do not tell the whole story, but I came home
with really nice impression and a desire to
return.
