Passsage Through a Sea of Ice

On January 7, 2004, we went high into the hills to
find nice snow and adventure.
find nice snow and adventure.
The ice was only 3 centimeters away at times, making
for some challenging skiing and route finding. But the day was extraordinary!
What a fine passage we had ( href="http://www.swissguides.com/trips/040107Corbassiere/index.html">big
or href="http://www.swissguides.com/trips/040107CorbassiereSmall/index.html">small

The skiing has slowly
improved. Simply through time and gravity, what little snow we had, pressed into
a solid base. One can really let go in certain areas and fly through fine
powder, 20 centimeters deep, on top of a hard base. Yesterday, we skied the
Attelas Couloirs while it snowed. It was fine powder skiing at
last!
